Leadership Lakeland
and PLC meetings
Lakeland Leadership is a program that looks into projects the community has and tries to enhance them. In the cafeteria we held our presentation to the Leadership Lakeland group. The whole school board and the whole Leadership Lakeland team were there. Caroline Bridges, the head of all magnet schools in Polk County, was there too. At the presentation members of the JAMIS butterfly group spoke to them about the many problems that the monarchs face. One of the problems that butterflies face is the lack of milkweed along their migratory route. We also spoke to them about the migrating process that the monarchs go through while traveling to the Mexico. We also spoke about the waystations that we are trying to create in different states. Waystations helps the monarchs and caterpillars have food to eat during their long journey from the North to the South and back.
PLC (professional learning communities) - are weekly meetings the teachers attend with their subject area team.
